Widely popularized by celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Maddona, and Rhianna, the formerly ignored muscle is now finding increased attention as many try to emulate the derisive and sexual connotations of sticking out the perfectly toned and colored tongue.
"Women often seek cosmetic surgery for several common physical defects related to the tongue" explains Dr. Leonard Odium, a pioneer in tongue enhancement surgery. Perceived imperfections range from "discolored, hairy, and fissured" tongues to more complex problems such as wrinkled and "dried up looking" tongues.
Clients waiting in Dr. Odium's office refused comment, though it was because the were unable because of recovery is unclear.
